Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Suresh Gyanvihar University started its journey in the year 2012 with a view to serving aspiring students who could not enter the regular mode for higher education.

Recognitions-

Suresh Gyanvihar University has been incorporated by Rajasthan Government Act 2008 and established through a gazette notification on 21 April 2008. The University is entitled to conduct various courses at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels in the subjects mentioned. Schedule II of the Act.
DEB Approved-
The Joint Committee of UGC-AICTE-DEB, New Delhi has recognized SGVU-DE for providing distance education.

AIU Member-
The Association of Indian Universities functions as an inter-university organization. This organization facilitates communication and acts as an information bureau for sharing various activities of the university in academics, sports, allied fields, and other fields. The University Grants Commission has issued the approval for the establishment of the University and the authority to confer degrees as specified by the UGC u/s 22 of the UGC Act 1956 Notification No. F.9-38/2008(CPP-I) dated 1st April 2009.
Under the guidelines of the Private Universities Regulations 2003, the UGC has constituted an Expert Committee for the evaluation of the University. The report of the Committee was considered by the Commission in its 467th meeting and approved the Report of the UGC Expert Committee on the University (F.NO.9-38/2008(CPP-I/PU) dated 17 February 2010).
AICTE Approved-
Apart from the fact that Suresh Gyanvihar University is running a number of programs approved by AICTE, please note that as per AICTE notification (Advt.No.UB/04(03)/2010), the University is permitted by AICTE to start a new department. Prior approval is not required. OR COURSES AND PROGRAMS IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION.

The Distance Education Division in the Ministry of Human Resource Development receives several queries from the general public seeking clarification regarding recognition of educational qualifications obtained through distance for the purpose of employment in Central/State Government service.
The Central Government as an employer had made its position regarding educational qualification clear; Received through distance mode of education; For the purpose of employment vide Gazette Notification No. 44 dated 1st March 1995.
The Gazette notification referred to above applies equally to qualifications obtained from private as well as public institutions/universities.
