MNIT-
Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur (MNIT or NIT Jaipur) is a public technical university in Jaipur, India, specializing in science, engineering, and management.
Formerly known as Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC) Jaipur, it adopted its current name in 2002 and was recognized as an institution of national importance in 2007.
Founded in 1963, it had only two engineering departments, but today includes 14 departments, a school of management, and a federation canter. The Institute is wholly funded by the Ministry of Human Resources Development of India and is governed by the Senate under the NIT Act.
History

The Institute was established in 1963 as the Malabya Regional Engineering College (MREC) as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. It is named after Madan Mohan Malaviya. V.G.Gard was its first director. The university he moved to its current campus in Jaipur in 1965.

The institute is now under the Ministry of Education, New Delhi. Selected to participate in the Government of India and the World Bank’s Quality Improvement Program for Technical Education.
Milestone: MNIT celebrated its golden founding anniversary in 2013.
Academic Programs
MNIT offers a wide range of engineering, science, management, design, and liberal arts programs with an engineering focus. Eight four-year Bachelor of Technology programs and one five-year Bachelor of Architecture program with a total of over 5,000 students. Graduate Degree Awards Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Urban Planning. Ranking
The National Institute of Technology Malabya in Jaipur was ranked 35th among engineering faculties according to its importance by the National Institutes Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020. An overall score (usually out of 100) is the basis for grading, and grade ranges are assigned grade values (out of 10). This grade range is determined by the Grade Moderation Board and is relative in nature. Students are graded each semester by forming a weighted average of all courses with their respective credit points. Each semester is individually assessed using a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), which reflects the average grades for the entire semester.
Research
at the Research Institute is sponsored by major government agencies such as the Indian Weapons Factory, the Ministry of Communications, and The IT, Government. Organizational Structure

MNIT Organizational Structure
MNIT shares the NIT organizational structure and a common visitor (the position of the President of India) who is the most powerful person on the NIT Council.
Board consists of members appointed by the NIT Council, the Director General, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Human Resources Development, and representatives of the Government of India.
The Institute Director is the Institute’s, Scientific Director and Executive Director. He is assisted by the Deputy Director.
The Deans, Deans, Presidents, Student Council Presidents, and Hall Steering Committee Chairs report to the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer and oversees day-to-day operations. He is the custodian of the Institute’s records, funds, and other property.
The Head of Department (HOD) reports to the Department (Full-time Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor). Home managers systematically report to the chair of the Home Board of Trustees.
Funding
Every year, the Institute receives $20 million from the Government of India and the World Bank. Alumni and other organizations also donate to support the Institute’s development. Financial management is carried out by the Institute’s Finance Committee.
Research Policy The research policy of the Institute is determined by the Senate. Consists of the dean of the institute, all professors, directors, educators, and experts
The Senate administers and approves curricula, courses, exams, and results, and appoints commissions to review academic matters. The Institute’s teaching, training, and research activities are reviewed by the Senate to ensure that training standards are maintained. The Director is ex officio the President of the Senate.

Central Library
is now known as the LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER (LRC). Supports the Institute’s teaching and research programs, offering 156,314 print books, 3,073 e-books, 10,000 e-journals, international journals, and facilities for professional general reading and information. Brochures, standards, CD-ROMs, magazines. Computer Center
The Center has 10 computer labs. A data center with a private cloud was also set up in the center with VMWare V Cloud Suite 5 and 64 TB of EMC2 storage.
A private cloud provides features for the automatic provisioning of IT resources, a single interface for administrators across the IT infrastructure, and workload elasticity.
It is used for digitizing libraries, archiving emails, hosting various services/applications, and Ph.D. research in cloud computing. and M.Tech students.
Vivekananda Lecture Hall Complex (VLTC)
Vivekananda Lecture Hall Complex has 40 classrooms that can accommodate approximately 5,500 students at one time. Construction began on September 19, 2012. It holds the record for being the largest auditorium complex in Asia.
Each hostel has WLAN and/or LAN as well as a lounge with TV, LAN, ping pong table, newsstand, and canteen.
Student Life
Gargi Hostel for Girls
MNIT hosts its MNIT Sports Tournament (MST) every year. The event is attended by students from Rajasthan and other parts of North India. MNIT also hosts Inter-NIT sports tournaments as part of the Inter-NIT Sports Association.
The Institute is the West Zone Hub for the NBA JAM.

Hostels
MNIT has 10 male and 2 female hostels with a capacity of approximately 3,000 students. The largest of them is the Aurobindo hostel with 950 single rooms. Codavids
Codavids is the Institute’s official programming and coding club run by the Department of Computer Engineering. Housing
MNIT provides on-campus housing for its students, researchers, faculty, and many employees.
Hostel rooms have wired internet and students pay a mandatory fee included in the hostel fee.
