Bhavan’s N. A. Palkhivala Academy For Advanced Legal Studies And Research
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Bhavan’s N.A. Palkhivala Academy For Advanced Legal Studies and Research. The technological explosion witnessed by the human race during the second half of the twentieth century resulted in a surge of social and fiscal reforms, leading to globalization, privatization, and the opening up of world economies. As a result, the world order is undergoing unprecedented changes.
N. A. Palkhivala Academy
The education and practice of the law and management professions have undergone a significant change since the last decade of the twentieth century.
The wave of economic reforms has established new standards and requirements in the fields of law and management administration worldwide.
N. A. Palkhivala Academy
The worldwide economic recession is causing significant challenges due to the failures of bureaucracies in various countries to manage economic reforms and growth effectively.
This, in turn, is a result of inadequate knowledge, preparation, and planning in legal, economic, and administrative aspects of reforms.
Our ambition to develop India into a modern nation depends on our ability to globally empower future generations in the fields of law and management.
N. A. Palkhivala Academy
Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of creating a “Rama Rajya” in India, a nation based on values, where righteousness and justice prevail at all levels.
India is making unprecedented economic progress, but the vision of “Rama Rajya” can only be realized by ensuring that righteousness and justice guide the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of our government, as well as the industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors of our nation.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
Value-based education can only produce value-based leaders in fields such as law and management. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has a vital role to play in this area by shaping future lawyers and managers who are deeply connected to our rich heritage and culture.
Bhavan’s N.A. Palkhivala Academy
These individuals can turn information into knowledge, and mature it into wisdom, making them competent to hold positions that shape the destiny of our nation and the human race.
To achieve its objective, Bhavan has established Bhavan’s N.A. Palkhivala Academy for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (Bhavan’s PALSAR), is an academy designed to set global standards and enhance competency in legal and management studies.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
Bhavan’s PALSAR has the pristine and divine ancient dictum of “सर्वं धर्मे प्रतिष्ठितं” as its institutional motto.
This translates to “Everything in the Universe is founded on Dharma” from the Mahabharata 12-222-47b and also from the Mahanarayana Upanishad, Chapter 22.
The Academy’s permanent buildings will be constructed at Vazhayur village in the Malappuram district, approximately 20 km from Kozhikode and the Manjeri District Courts.
Initially, the Academy is operating from Bhavan’s Ramanattukara campus.
VISION & MISSION
Since the beginning of globalization, the practice of law and management has become more than just understanding the fields within one’s own country. In this globalized world, nations are increasingly interdependent and interconnected.
People from different countries are interacting at unprecedented rates, and industrial and commercial activities are expanding across borders, blurring the lines between nations.
In the future, regardless of a lawyer’s or manager’s nationality and chosen area of study, they will need to practice law or management in a more diverse global village.
Despite efforts made by government and non-government organizations, there is still a lack of an institution with the required excellence in these fields.
This motivates us to establish an internationally recognized institution for advanced studies and research in law and management. We believe this is a national necessity required by the times.
PALKHIVALA ACADEMY
Ardeshir Palkhivala (Nanabhoy) was born on January 16, 1920, to blue-collar, middle-class Parsi parents in Mumbai.
Palkhivala spoke highly of his parents, saying, “I owe a debt to my parents, their love, care, and guidance, which could never be repaid.”From them, I learned that My father instilled in me a passion for literature, which has remained an abiding joy throughout my life… My mother was a woman of exceptionally strong character who could meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat the two imposters just the same… This was a family where love ruled.
Nani and his siblings learned valuable lessons at home that no school, college, or university could impart.”
